ABOUT THE MAP. This map shows the boundaries of the South Coast Air Quality Management District, which is the agency responsible for regulating air pollution and maintaining clean air standards to protect public health. The District primarily controls emissions from stationary sources of air pollution (e.g., land uses), and the California Air Resources Board and Cal/US EPA regulate mobile sources (e.g., cars and trucks).
